EDIT: If you can't watch the Hulu version of the episode, you can go to here: http://www.comedycentral.com/colbertreport/full-episodes/index.jhtml?episodeId=256185 this is the Colbert Report official website.

I'm posting the whole damn show. It is THAT good. I was gushing like a ridiculous fangirl at the end during the Elvis Costello interview. Here are the wonderful segments for 11.19.2009's Colbert Report:

Celebration of the AK-47's 50th anniversary
Tip of the Hat/Wag of the Finger:
- U.S. Speedskating (The Colbert Nation is the official sponsor because their original sponsor was a Dutch Bank that cancelled on them all of a sudden, and Stephen decided to step in to help)
- New York's black lottery ticket
- An 8-9 year old boy who refused to say the Pledge of Allegiance because it is a lie since gays and lesbians are not given equal rights
Elvis Costello interview
Performance with Elvis Costello on acoustic guitar and Stephen Colbert singing CHEAP REWARDS!

GACKT as student council president for Kamui Gakuen Nov. 19th, 2009 @ 03:20 pm
This is old news, but I had to post it. It is friggin' hilarious. I don't know if there is anywhere else on earth that events like these can go on (i.e. a rock star checking emails for pics of their fans' schoolgirl outfits for an imaginary school) without bringing on the full force of the media's indignant self-righteous contempt.

Thanks to MIDORI-chan and gackt_army for the updates!

GACKT in Difficult Situation…
2009-11-19
GACKT recently became the president of the school council of ‘Kamui Gakuen’. ['Kamui Gakuen (神威楽園)' is the name of an imaginary school and a series of fan club events being held by GACKT. Fans participating in the event must come wearing school uniforms.] As part of the event, GACKT has been busy ‘checking’ the students’ uniforms. Fans (students) are able to directly send photos of them wearing uniforms and ask for advice. Unfortunately, things have not been going exactly as planned…
GACKT was surprised by the amount of emails that were sent to him. “I’ve just finished filming. I came out to have a look, and found I’m being swamped with email…there’s no use complaining…so I’ll just go ahead and check all of them…”
He sounded a bit upset about the photos. “There’re some with only the upper bodies showing (No skirts, maybe?)…close-ups of certain body parts (Some of them show parts of ‘Gundam [anime robot]‘)…some that are hiding their faces but making it difficult for me to see their necks (They look a bit spooky without their heads!)…and some more hiding their eyes, etc…If you want me to check them and give you advice, please send a proper photo! This is a game, but a serious game!”
GACKT decided to give an order as president of the student council!! “Let’s all work together so things can progress more smoothly. This is an order as president of the student council!! Follow them or else I’ll quit.” If you’re planning to send a photo, please send one that doesn’t break the rules!

GACKT to return on VS ARASHI!!!!! Nov. 19th, 2009 @ 03:13 pm
Thanks to MIDORI-chan and gackt_Army for the update!

YES!!!! GACKT is going to be coming back on to the show VS ARASHI!!! I am so excited! He was on a while back with his friend, Miyazaki Daisuke, and they had lost. GACKT had vowed that he would gain his revenge the next time he came on.

Here's the brief little teaser of his appearance:

FYI: if anyone did not get a chance to see the most excellent game with GACKT and Daisuke vs Arashi, PM me and I'll be very happy to ul the subbed version for you.

Note: It's hilarious that GACKT is yet again dressed in an ultra cool biker style badass outfit, that is definitely not very sports-friendly (>_<).

This is hilarious. I think everything I have been feeling about this "memoir" and all of my thoughts are best presented by dear Stephen here:

Stephen Colbert - Better Know a District California's 12th Nov. 18th, 2009 @ 09:21 pm
Another marvelous and ridiculous Better Know a District segment on the Colbert Report!

I don't think anyone else could have gotten all of these "respectable" congressmen/women to skateboard in the halls of Washington D.C.'s U.S. Capitol Building. (Stephen did a few awesome turns on the skateboard too, while waving the American flag and high fiving ppl.)

Here's a teaser preview of GACKT on Chubaw desu yo (cooking entertainment show) that will air on 11.21.2009! GACKT is so cute here! There were articles saying that GACKT is currently losing weight (a total of 10kg) for his stage theatre debut in Nemuri. You can definitely see this here. He looks so skinny! (O_o) I love that shy smile and laugh.

» Old interview with Viggo Mortensen
So...Stephen Colbert is a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan...as in a real Ringer (like a Trekkie and an X-Phile). And here, Jon Stewart plays a tape for Viggo to listen of Stephen explaining, in painful detail, who Aragorn is in LOTR. LMAO...Colbert is such an adorkable guy. Is it odd that I find Stephen's LOTR obsession kinda sexy? XDD

BTW, Viggo is just super and marvelous here too. He has that quiet confidence and strength in character that radiates from him.

» GACKT & Kami - piano/drum duet
This is one of my favorite GACKT duets of all time: GACKT and Kami during the Malice Mizer years, the Voyage 1997 Tour

There is something absolutely heart-rending in the beginning solo. GACKT is amazing on the piano.
» 11.12.2009'Colbert Report - massively ridiculous but touching
I loved last night's Colbert Report!!! It had the most awesome segments: from waging war on Miracle Whip, to Stephen being raised on wires a la Highlander Quickening style as a response to Lou Dobb's resignation from CNN, to shaving Woody Harrelson's head as a sign of support for the U.S. troops!

Here is the sign off for the show: Stephen shaving Woody's head as they both sing, in harmony, The Star Spangled Banner.

» Even Stevphen - oldie from the Daily Show
This one is HILARIOUS...I seriously thought I was going to have an apoplectic fit from laughing so hard.

A very old Even Stevphen from Oct 25, 1999 with Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert

» Colbert Report - Better Know a District - Utah's 3rd
This is hilarious.  This actually had me clutching my sides! XDD  On the Colbert Report, there's a segment called "Better Know a District" where Stephen interviews congressmen and senators in regards to the district they are representing.  Usually, the interviews are just downright full of absurdity, and Stephen tries his level best to throw his interviewees off-kilter with ridiculous questions and accusations.  Although people know that this is not meant to be a serious interview, political figures have sought out the Report to be on this segment because of the eventual "Colbert Bump" during voting seasons.

Here is Utah's 3rd district, interview conducted on Jan 6, 2009.  The only enticements I will list are: leg wrestling and Stephen's hidden firearm named "Sweetness"  =P

» House Democrats pass health-care bill!!

House Democrats pass health-care bill!!

Hours after President Obama exhorted Democratic lawmakers to "answer the call of history," the House hit an unprecedented milestone on the path to health-care reform, approving a trillion-dollar package late Saturday that seeks to overhaul private insurance practices and guarantee comprehensive and affordable coverage to almost every American.

...The House legislation would for the first time require every individual to obtain insurance, and would require all but the smallest employers to provide coverage to their workers. It would vastly expand Medicaid and create a new marketplace where people could obtain federal subsidies to buy insurance from private companies or from a new government-run insurance plan.

Though some people would receive no benefits -- including about 6 million illegal immigrants, according to congressional estimates -- the bill would virtually close the coverage gap for people who do not have access to health-care coverage through their jobs.

» Stephen Colbert Quote on Suffering

This was Stephen Colbert's response to a question during a Rolling Stones, September 2009 edition, interview about how suffering/dark times in his life may have affected his views or his comedic career:

"...The most valuable thing I can think of is to be grateful for suffering. That is a sublime feeling, and completely inexplicable and illogical, but no one doesn't suffer. So the degree to which you can be aware of your own humanity is the degree to which you can accept, with open eyes, your suffering. To be grateful for your suffering is to be grateful for your humanity, because what else are you going to do - say "No, thanks"?  It's there.  "Smile and accept," said Mother Teresa.  And she was talking to people who had it rough..."

-Stephen Colbert

November Week One Topic: China

What quiet comfort can I offer?

Does the night sky bring you no joy?

Did this vast landscape of fallen giants

Not capture and breathe life into

your antiquated modernity?

Then what about the red sun?

Rising above the maelstrom—to look back,

Winking to you in its majesty,

Covering this fragile civilization

In its most shrouded and jaded steel?

Should I not ask?

Would it be simpler to drone on

Silent as the forest,

Swift as the wind,

Unmovable as the mountains?

Would it help if I told you that age

Brings a beauty to your cragged features,

And shapes your lovely silence

Into masterpieces,

Built upon bamboo structured refinery?

I gaze at you with an overarching love

That understands that

there is no yin to this yang,

No tears to this laughter,

No life to this death.

It is all in the very fabric of these walls and planes,

In the fiber of these rice fields and wild oats,

In traditional hierarchies of man and woman,

In the tensile strength of a new Italian-imported business suit,

And in the back breaking clacks of keyboards.

That is where my love is hidden.

That is where I draw comfort for you,

Where I’ll ease your pain

And remind you of tomorrow

And kindly…comfortingly…blend in yesterday

For you.

» Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert
Right before The Colbert Report starts, Jon Stewart from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart communicates once a week with Stephen Colbert by doing a "toss".  These are one of the highlights of the shows for me.  They are always ridiculously funny and the camaraderie between these two really just makes me smile.

Here, Stephen challenges Jon to an Alphabet game:
