Happy Birthday, GACKT-sama! I wish you the best, and I know you will continue to burn bright (as you predicted!) in the many many years to come! No matter what, I hope all of your dreams and world domination goals come true, and that you will forever be surrounded by wonderful people who care for you!

Thanks to tenshin26100 in dears and grissom13 in gackt_army for the update!
This is marvelous! I think the song is powerful and it draws plenty of images for us to see in our minds. The PV doesn't need to be anything elaborate, and I'm glad it's simple Gackt angsting. AND...yes, he has said that he had quit smoking, and in the PV he's smoking. BUT...it might not be an actual cigarette. It could be a herbal cigarette. I remember in X-Files, the Cigarette-Smoking Man always smoked, but the actor himself didn't smoke, so he used herbal ones instead.
Enjoy!

Rickman Mentioned in Screenwriting Interview "quite extraordinary" From an article today in SFgate.com: Q: What, if anything, can you say about the climactic moment between Snape and Dumbledore? In the book, it's a short but intense scene. A: It is informed by everything (Potter readers) have come to know is true. So if you watch the film carefully, there are performance moments that are quite extraordinary, Alan Rickman (who plays Snape) especially. There is something we added that you can look forward to, a short scene between Harry and Snape prior to the big event. It'll be interesting to see how it plays to the audience. It should be a haunting moment for Harry.

Thanks to bugackt for updating in gackt_army and thanks to kuroikona for sharing on youtube. REMEMBER TO BUY IF YOU LIKE!!!!!!!!!!!
I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS SONG. I really feel extremely grateful for the fact that I am in this wonderful world with GACKT and such lovely people like in gackt_army and my f-list, where I can fangirl and flail about in my GACKT adoration.
<rant> There are some people who really just irk me in the GACKT fandom, where in the same damn post they'll be sharing their uploads and bashing GACKT right afterward. WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU SHARE AN ARTIST'S WORK IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!???!! I think it's fine if others aren't as into GACKT's new music and such, but I don't appreciate it when supposed GACKT fans start expounding about how GACKT's "lost his touch" or "damn, must be using a voice synthesizer!" or "trying too hard to be cool, GACKT" or my personal favorite "he's sold out!!"
It's just disrespectful to said artist, especially an artist who works as hard as GACKT does, and to those who love him and have joined the damn comms for the express purpose of not having to fear such prejudices against their love for the man.
I know the mods are prolly working overtime to curb those "fans" but it's a tough job (especially if you're filtering out hundreds of posts). And then there are those comms not on LJ that just go stir crazy with this shit. ACK. I think I'll just stick with the comms I know are good and have higher quality posts and lovely people in them. </rant> Sorry about that. But right...here's the lovely song, Flower, by our GACKT-sama!

» GACKT quote
This quote resonates so very strongly within me right now. Thanks to _ananda_ for sharing this.
"Even so, the act of picking up one foot and taking a step forward requires an insane amount of courage. However, if you want to leave this darkness that much, it is possible for your feet to take a step onto the path illuminated by the moon.
In the people who watch my concerts and listen to my music, it is all right if even a single person understands that. I will be happy if that person starts walking forward with his or her own courage.
I am the moon. I dimly light the road, and the only thing I can do is point it out to you.
But when you all take that one step forward, I will gently, quietly watch over you. "

Posted with permission from ryuik :
Thanks to both ryuik and flowerblade for this translation! THIS MAKES ME LOVE GACKT EVEN MORE...HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE????
Lost angels
[rough translation, so corrections are welcome]
"No matter how many of our dear people are lost, kindness will probably still be overflowing in this world... Repeating the same mistakes, we have lost so many of our dear people. Over and over again... without noticing it, over and over... I dedicate this song to those numerous vanished angels."

Beautiful and haunting. The opening sorta reminds me of Misty in Diabolos.

» Graduation Day
Thanks to all on my F-List for their congratulations!!
It was an extremely emotionally charged day today. We had spent 2 years together as a class, with these same people (students and professors alike) everyday, for more than 5 hrs a day, through the tough times and through the good times. We had a lot of failures and successes, and we celebrated those together. I have to say that I rarely cry, and I didn't shed a tear when I graduated from 8th grade, h.s., or undergrad. But here, I felt like we were a family. Our class was extremely small (only 19 full time students and 5 part time), and we were extremely close with our professors. They had quite literally seen us grow up, and they were pivotal in our maturation. But today...I really couldn't hold back the tears.
One of my close mentors, who is also the associate chair for the program, he gave a farewell speech for our class. He is probably one of the most stoic of people I had ever met. He actually broke down crying in the last 3 paragraphs of his speech and couldn't continue. He had to take several moments to collect himself. There was barely a dry eye in the house! I had especially felt a great deal of heartache because I've been working very closely with him the past year on a separate research project with him and he was the chair for my thesis. He's been like an older brother to me. He is my role model for what I want to be like as I advance in my career.
I see life as a journey trying to put together a monumentous number of pieces to a puzzle, trying to make sense of the overall picture. And sometimes, we go on paths that may seem like the pieces will fit, and we're misled or we've made a mistake and we have to go back to see where we went wrong. And then...there are those times when all of the pieces fall together, all of the right people are there to help you on that path, pointing out the right way, advising you on different means to finish the puzzle, and all of your moves are the best ones. This program (the healthcare administration graduate program at Rush University) was one of those times when everything just fell in the right place and the pieces to the puzzle all fit. I have been incredibly lucky to have had such an experience.
My friend Amin (fellow graduate), Andy (associate chair/mentor mentioned above), and myself:

» Graduating, finally!
I'm finally graduating this Saturday with a masters of science in healthcare administration! It's been a long journey, but damn...I'm glad I went through it. I'm going to miss being with everyone like this, but I'm sure we'll keep in touch (especially since one's graduating class is probably the best form of networking one can do).

» Gackt Music Fair - 06.06.2009 ANOTHER WORLD
Thanks to Gubung for this!!
OMG...Gackt looks like he's having so much fun performing ANOTHER WORLD. This reminds me so much of his interview with Masahiro Inoue in the Best Actor mag (that was so kindly translated by amaiakuyume) about how anything in the entertainment industry isn't just about the skills and talents you have, it's also about presentation and charisma. This definitely resonates very well with Gackt's pearls of wisdom.

Ok...Gackt's opening line and villainous laugh really sent chills down my spine. I think Gacchan's acting has really improved these past few years. He has left a really good and lasting impression in this ep!
